DAFM Grant in Aid – Planning permission requirement for future rounds – Teagasc Advisory

Teagasc have been advised that there will be some small changes to future rounds of the grant scheme. Where planning permission will be required for a development, permission will have to be secured before the application is made.

I hear the average time for an application is 6-8 weeks depending on the local authority however it could be much longer where additional information is required.

Some developments are exempt e.g. poly tunnels developments that are less than 250m2 every 2 years, but this varies between local authorities. Applications for structure that are exempt will need to have a letter to confirm this from the local authority or an appropriate professional.

If you are hoping to apply for a grant for a new structure this autumn start your planning process as soon as you can.
