Lucy Kennedy opens GRASSLAND, Ireland’s first interactive artificial grass showroom

Lucy Kennedy has opened GRASSLAND for Sanctuary Synthetics, the makers of artificial grasses for domestic and commercial clients, at their new interactive showrooms in Naas, Co Kildare.  The first of its kind in Ireland, the GRASSLAND innovative outlet has replicating pieces from their Bloom winning gardens, the Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland and the Secret Lives of Pets alongside many smaller interactive pieces. The aim is to reflect the versatility of the artificial grass in a fun and engaging way, making the trip for visitors a memorable and informative experience.  Lucy Kennedy, who recently installed the grass in her own home and has now become its brand ambassador, has seen first-hand the positive change artificial grasses can make to home life.

The owner of GRASSLAND and Sanctuary Synthetics is Mark O’Loughlin who has entered the Bloom Garden Festival three times and been a successful winner each time.

He began Sanctuary Synthetics in 2003 when he saw the interest in creating gardens that are better suited to year-round use for family life.  Since then he has become the first and leading supplier of safe fake grass, a triple Bloom garden winner and has created his interactive GRASSLAND in his hometown of Naas.

There was, and still can be, negativity towards synthetic grass from a purist anaesthetic viewpoint. These days, however, artificial grass technology has got better, looks incredible, is completely safe and Mark and his team have installed it in schools, creches and commercial properties as well as homes.

Why has there been such an increase in uptake? Mark believes the few key reasons are that the garden/outdoor area becomes a space that can be used year round, there’s no more muck, mess or mowing, its loved by pets (good for paws), safe, always looks good no matter the season and families especially rave about their outdoor quality of life after installation.

If you would like to discuss anything to do with artificial grasses, Mark O’Loughlin from Sanctuary Synthetics is the lead expert and available for interview.
