The attendees at this week’s Teagasc Nursery Stock Seminar will be covering a wide range of subjects. The line-up of speakers includes plenty of international experience including Graham Spencer, Dr Heinrich Löesing & Dr Tom Pope. These events are always worthwhile from an educational and learning point of view but even better for networking with colleagues.
Top of the networking subjects list will be trying to assess the overall monetary damage to the sector after ‘Storm Ophelia’. In particular, many tree nurseries sustained serious damage to their stock. We recently spoke with Ronan Nangle and you can see from the image above the type of damage and losses sustained by him and many other businesses across Ireland. It is now more important than ever for the sector to come together with one voice to get the support from the government that they need and deserve.
